2D Nashville Show – Weekend Report

The weekend of June 4th–7th brought plenty of positives for our 2029 squads at the 2D Nashville Show. Both teams battled their way into bracket play on Sunday, while 5 Star Midsouth Gold put together an impressive run all the way to the championship game before ultimately coming up just short.

Gold finished the weekend with a 3-2-1 record, with contributions coming from all over the roster as players continued to step up in big moments throughout the event.

On the Mound

Evan Stewart (Wilson Central) turned in one of the top pitching performances of the weekend, tossing a complete game while striking out 11 hitters against the Knights 15U squad.

Riley Flora (Central Magnet) was outstanding across two appearances, totaling 8 innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out eight hitters. His biggest outing came in the semifinal matchup against Dirtbags Midsouth Black, helping secure a trip to the championship game.

Jake Elliott (Oakland High School) put together a dominant all-around weekend. At the plate, Elliott hit .538 with a .667 OBP, collecting two doubles, four RBIs, and six stolen bases. He also contributed on the mound, throwing 4.1 innings while allowing just one hit and zero earned runs.

Ryan Ruby (JPII) continued his strong offensive season, finishing the weekend with a .444 batting average and a .643 on-base percentage.
